Diana Foss, Board President
Diana is a long time volunteer with Veggielution, and has taken a very active role in the organization since she joined in 2008. She coordinated and prepared the 2009 Veggielution Fundraiser Dinner, and has taken an active role in coordinating workdays and events. She also volunteers with Village Harvest as a fruit gleaner, and Ano Nuevo State Reserve as a Docent Naturalist where she gives tours to visitors. She is planning to open a small produce shop at the new San Pedro Square Market in Downtown San Jose.

Bernardo Murillo, Board Treasurer
Bernardo has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Santa Clara University (2004), has worked 4 1/2 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP as a tax accountant, has served as a volunteer and staff member (at different times) at Sacred Heart Community Service for a total of 5 years, and has volunteered for 3 years at Career Closet of Santa Clara County as a consultant advising them regarding their financial statements and various tax issues including the preparation of their tax returns. He is currently working at Seiler LLP as a tax accountant and has joined the Board of Directors as the treasurer for a non-profit photography magazine based in San Francisco, named The Moholy Ground Project. |
Sarah Gallardo, Board Secretary
Sarah Gallardo is a community food activist and educator. Sarah joins us as a graduate student at San Jose State University in Leadership and Sustainable Agriculture. She has a diverse background in social science, ethnography, and agriculture as she pursues her passions in effecting change through community education. Sarah has contributed to educational program expansions at both Hidden Villa and Full Circle Farm including development of new programs in family gardening and seed-to-table education as well as establishing community programs, farm field trips, and year-round middle school garden education. Sarah has participated in education and leadership seminars as a teaching assistant at the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation and as a student scholar at the Salzburg Global Seminar in Salzburg, Austria. She devotes much of her free time to volunteering at local farms and gardens. |
Liz Snyder, Board Member
Liz Snyder is a food activist, anthropologist, and author. She has a master’s degree in nutritional anthropology from Oxford University, where she studied the complex interrelationships between the food marketing industry, nutrition education efforts in our schools, and their profound and unexpected effects on our relationship with food. She is the founder of Full Circle Farm, an educational, organic farm on Santa Clara Unified School District land that connects the district’s 14,000 children directly to the source of their food – both in the fields and in the cafeteria. She was voted one of Kiwi Magazine’s 2009 “Moms of the Revolution” for her work at Full Circle Farm, and continues working to promote healthy, sustainable food system as the Communications Manager for Bon Appetit Management Company, a progressive food service company providing local, sustainable food to over 400 companies and universities. |
Walker Kellogg, Board Member
As Vice President of Technology, Walker offers Sustainablity Roundtable Inc’s Members advanced technical knowledge on best practices that span facilities engineering, energy analysis and efficiency, renewable energy, resource conservation, rebates and incentives, behavioral modification, strategic planning, and project management. As a contractor for PG&E, Walker led the “More Than a Million” program for Google, securing utility incentives and introducing energy efficient upgrades, pilot programs, and cutting edge technology to save money and energy. He has also managed comprehensive integrated resource audits for Stanford, Hitachi, Varian Medical, SAP, PG&E, numerous other universities, hospitals, schools, offices, and municipalities, along with processing over 400 incentive applications for PG&E. Walker is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional and a Certified Sustainable Development Professional. |
Annie Chang, Board Member
Annie Chang graduated from the University of California, Davis in Communications with an emphasis in Film and Journalism and a Minor in Science and Society; she is currently pursing a joint medical (M.D.) and public health (M.S) degree at the UC San Francisco – UC Berkeley Joint Medical Program. Annie has years of experience working in communications, public health, and in a health plan. She began her most significant work serving as a researcher for National Linguistic & Cultural Programs, Kaiser Permanente National Diversity; the department supports the advancement of the National Standards on Culturally & Linguistically Appropriate Services issued by the Office of Minority Health. Her research has contributed toward strategies and innovations to mitigate health inequities faced by im/migrant communities. Furthermore, over the years Annie has drawn upon her enriching, in-depth experiences working with local and community-based efforts that address health and civic issues (such as End of Life Care, Immigrant Integration, Independent Arts, Urban Planning, and Migration Health). As an aspiring physician and public health leader, Chang values and continues her work as an advocate for vulnerable and underserved communities. |
Monica Lisa Benavides, Board Member
Monica Lisa is currently completing her Masters in Education and Teaching Credential at San Jose State University. Throughout her college career she has been actively taking leadership roles in many student organizations such as the Teachers of Tomorrow Club, Philosophy Club, Environmental Club, Child and Adolescent Development Club, and Tau Delta Phi. Monica Lisa has been volunteering with Veggielution since it’s inception, and more recently has taken an active role in community outreach.
