That's amazing! As a vegan I say thank you for looking after your hens and giving them a happy life where they can roam around freely. I think that's great that people are able to see where they buy their eggs.

The horses will arrive at 8 am and begin working soon after. We're going to try and keep them from doing all the work before the workday starts, but to play it safe it would be smart to get to the farm before the workday starts. The horses may be done working by 11 or potentially earlier.

I am extremely pleased with your school garden initiative. Good on you!

I am a strong supporter of schools gardens. I had my first school garden about 55 years ago and have had one almost every year since...

However, in those 55 years, the general population has lost all connection with the earth and have no idea about food other than it comes from the store... This was unacceptable and one reason behind creating a community garden movement.

We created a coalition of my community garden volunteers, school staff and Master Gardeners to create school gardens - and one by-product is a cadre of trained volunteers, willing to spread what they learned. Our first project is chronicled here: http://sustainable-landscaping.net/

After the project we did last July, the volunteers have been busy creating more school gardens. We are revving up for a better, more productive year in 2011, with every thing from another pre-school to University campus...

Keep digging!
