About

Do you eat food? Do you care about the environment, or have you ever thought about what it’s like to farm? Do you want to eat food you grew yourself, and help to feed your community? If so, then read on.

As part of our youth program, you´ll learn about natural farming and become part our new project, the Veggielution Farm at Emma Prusch Park in San Jose.  Youth in grades 9-12 are welcome to apply.

Our 8-week Spring Program runs from March to May and meets Thursdays after school and Saturdays during our community work day.  Alumni of the Spring Afterschool Program will be given priority in applying for the paid Summer positions.  Learn more here.

Our 6-week Summer Program runs from June-July and meets Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  This program will involve more farm work and participants will be paid a stipend for their contributions to the farm.  Learn more here.

Why do it?

You get to meet new friends, eat yummy food, make a difference in your community, have something to put on your resume, be outside, learn leadership skills, and possibly earn community service hours.  Several paid internships will also be available for alumni of the Spring and Summer programs.

Where does the food go?

Last year, our farm produced over 3100 pounds of food, and this year we are producing even more. We eat some of it, lots gets donated to a soup kitchen called Martha’s Kitchen, and lots gets sold at our affordable Farmstand at the Park. We will also be selling some to local restaurants.
